Animals found in Cabarrus County are waiting to be reunited with their owners. The animals below are currently in the custody of the Cabarrus County Animal Shelter. These pets will be held for an initial stray hold, and are not available for adoption at this time. This gives their owners time to find them. This page is updated every 15 minutes, so keep checking back.
The stray hold for cats is 72 hours. The stray hold for dogs is three business days. Stray holds do not include days that the shelter is closed (ie. weekends and holidays).
If your pet or a pet whose owner you know is listed here, contact the shelter immediately. For more information on fees that apply, visit reclaim your pet. Pets unclaimed upon mandatory stray hold expiration are assessed for other placement option.
